Star Island is not only coveted for its supreme, unspoiled waterfront location and limited amount of residents, but also for its privacy. The island is located just off of MacArthur Causeway and is only accessible by one bridge. The MacArthur Causeway is a six-lane causeway that connects Downtown Miami and South Beach, and was constructed between 1917 and 1920. In 1942 the State Road Board and the Dade County Commission voted to rename the causeway in honor of WWII General Douglas MacArthur.

The land that is now Star Island was initially owned by developer Carl Fisher, but was completed in 1922 by the Army Corps of Engineers. The island is so exclusive and private that there is a guard house at the entrance. The secure and private nature of Star Island and the contemporary and classic estates offered by the ultra-luxury community is one of the many reasons a number of international celebrities and Miami’s wealthy elite choose to call this area home, while the properties, with private boat docks and oversized lots are some of the most valuable homes in South Florida.

The homes in this community have incredible views of South Beach, the Miami skyline, and the Biscayne Bay. Living on Star Island you’re just minutes away from Miami Beach’s famous Art Deco district and world-renowned streets like Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue. The exclusive, private community is very family oriented and is in close proximity to South Beach, Miami’s Financial District, all major highways, and the Miami International Airport, which makes it a perfect neighborhood to live in if you have to commute Locally, Nationally, or Internationally.
